Sandra did her Masters the joint INPA/UFAM Genetics, Conservation and Evolutionary Biology program, working on population structuring and molecular diversification of Melanosuchus niger in the Amazon and Tocantins/Araguaia basins. She is currently working identifying fish larvae using molecular methods to estimate recruitment and understand seasonal dynamics migratory Amazonian fishes, but continues to develop studies with Melanosuchus niger. Sandra is also the go-to person for NextGen protocols and trouble shooting.
