Jessica developed a population genetics study on a freshwater turtle species (Acanthochelys spixii) in Cerrado savannah for her undergraduate project. For her Masters she is working with landscape genetics of Podocnemis species (P. erythrocephala and P. sextuberculata) in the Amazon Basin, aiming to compare the spatio-genetic pattern of these two river turtles. Jessica is doing her Masters in the Ecology graduate program at INPA under the supervision of Fernanda de Pinho Werneck (INPA), Izeni Pires Farias (UFAM) and Gabriel Correa Costa (UFRN). Her main interests are in evolutionary ecology, applied ecology, conservation and population genetics.
